"10 THOUSAND SCHOOLS IN SECONDARY EDUCATION PROJECT" IS BEING REALIZED

The 10,000 Schools Project in Secondary Education was prepared in order to create school environments that support academic, social, emotional and physical development, to reduce the differences in success rate between schools, and to strengthen the equality of opportunity and feasibility in education.

In order to create school environments that support academic, social, emotional and physical development in high schools, to reduce the gap in success rates between schools, and to strengthen equality of opportunity and feasibility in education, the Ministry of National Education prepared the 10,000 Schools in Secondary Education Project upon the instruction of Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer. A budget of 4 billion liras has been allocated for the "10,000 Schools in Secondary Education Project" that will be implemented this year.
 
The project was also included in the President's Decision on the Adoption and Implementation of the 2023 Investment Program published in the Official Gazette dated January 15, 2023.
 
It is aimed to increase the quality of education at all levels by improving the disadvantaged areas in Secondary Education, Religious Education, Vocational and Technical Education. It is also aimed to improve the disadvantaged areas of schools and institutions affiliated to the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
 
In this context, the needs determined by the Information Systems data tracking modules of the Ministry of National Education were approved after being checked by the commissions established in the district and provincial national education directorates.
 
Every school that needs reparation and equipment will benefit
The project will proceed under four main headings: "improving physical conditions, training of administrators, teachers and parents, academic success support, social, cultural and sports activities."
 
Every school in need of repair and equipment will benefit from the scope of improving physical conditions. The improvement involves; redesigning the schools in line with environmental awareness and hygiene rules, designing the standards of the teachers' room, improving the areas in the student hostels, beautification of the external appearance of the schools, and strengthening the school laboratories.
 
Training will be given to administrators, teachers and parents
The data obtained from the field were enriched with literature review and As a result of the studies carried out by the Ministry of National Education, the content strands were determined for "administrators, teachers and parents".
 
Administrator and teacher training will be carried out in cooperation with MEB Teacher Training and Development General Directorate, the Directorate General for and provincial directorates of national education. Necessary studies will be carried out as part of professional development societies, manager teacher mobility and school based professional development programs.
 
The project will proceed in relation to the Family School Project
Emphasis will be put on academic success support and improvement of basic skills. Support mechanisms will be established to help students to gain the skills they need throughout their lives. Students will be provided with material and books in order to increase academic success. In addition, students who need support in basic skills training will be supported with relevant materials, books and courses.
 
Social, cultural and sports activities will be supported
As part of the 10,000 Schools in Secondary Education Project, central and local activities that will serve to develop students' social, emotional and high-level thinking skills will be carried out during students' learning process.
 
A budget of 4 billion liras had been made for the "10,000 Schools in Basic Education Project" which was completed last year in order to reduce the differences in success rates between schools and to strengthen the equality of opportunity in education.
